Animals 4 God

The purpose of Animals 4 God is to "share the love of God through animals."  We are a group of animal lovers committed to meeting the needs of our congregation and our community.  We strive to serve God by providing grief support for those who have suffered the loss of a pet, hosting pet blessings, and providing support through our pets with residents of nursing homes, hospitals, hospice, Veterans, and other venues.  For information, please contact Scott South at (623) 853-0368.

Animals 4 God is still hosting the Children’s Reading Program each month.  Although primarily a select group of young boys from several area youth homes attend, ALL CHILDREN ARE INVITED!  We meet on the second Tuesday of the month from 6 to 7 p.m.

If you have a dog and would be willing to participate fairly regularly, we encourage you to contact us.  Prior to participation, all dogs must be evaluated to the types of activity experienced in the program.

Upcoming Training Dates:

Renee Joseph of S.P.O.T. On Obedience Training is going to be taking some time off after the current classes have ended.  We pray she comes back to us soon!

For more information, please contact Renee Joseph, S.P.O.T. On Obedience Training.  Website: Email: Phone (719)660-5561.

Animals 4 God has also decided to branch out a little more.  We are going to match the donations made toward helping provide bullet proof vests for the Surprise Police Department K-9s, that the children made during VBS.

We also plan to donate pet food, pet beds, pet toys, and other such items to those graduating out of Family Promise with pets.  We know it can get expensive keeping a pet, and those in Family Promise who have kept their pets, love them like family members.  Animals 4 God understands that love and would like to help those families.

We are passionate about bringing the healing effect of dogs’ unconditional love into the lives of people in the community, especially those who are home-bound or in a medical facility.  Becoming a therapy dog team involves a bit of work beforehand, but the effort is well worth it.  If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a Dog/Handler team for therapy work, please contact us at:

Interested in becoming a part of our ministry?  You don’t have to own a pet or even be a member of New Song to join.  You just need to have a desire to serve God by planning and participating in activities which involve enriching the lives of others by sharing our pets.  We also strive to do God’s will as He challenges us to care for all the animals of the Earth by hosting educational activities with guest speakers and organizing collection events to donate to area shelters.  We meet at the church on the fourth Saturday of the month at 9:00 a.m.
