Responsibilities
1. provide oversight by coordinating efforts of all worship and music ministry teams under the “Worship” ministry umbrella.
2. meet weekly with pastor and staff (“Red” team) for spiritual development and guidance.
3. meet monthly with “Green” ministry team leaders to ascertain ministry activity and effectiveness
4. meet minimum of twice per year with each “Blue” ministry team leader to ascertain ministry activity and effectiveness.
5. recruit and train servant leaders (unpaid) for appropriate worship-related ministry team when required.
6. make sure that each worship service is fully staffed (ushers, audio/video, communion servers, etc.)
7. work with pastors and Worship ministry team in providing resources for special worship services
8. provide a written report to Charge Conference noting areas of successful ministry and goals for coming year.
Qualifications
1. must be a member of the church
2. must understand the theology of worship and appreciate different styles of worship and music
3. must share the pastors’ and the Church Council’s vision for worship for all ages that is relevant and meaningful
4. must have a passion for excellence in all areas of worship and music
5. must have good administrative and leadership skills
6. must have good interpersonal and relational skills
7. Must have spiritual maturity and a commitment to a Christian life-style
Compensation:
This is a servant leadership position with no financial renumeration. The minimum commitment for service is three years.
The Director of Worship & Music is accountable to the Director of Program Ministries and the Church Council.
