New Song has a multitude of active ministry teams in our church and
community. Get connected to God and others — join our
ministry teams and help us make disciples and make a
difference!

Worship & Music:
Altar Design Team — designs and
maintains altar displays, candles, other worship decorations. Contact
Ann Haggerty.
Communion Stewards — prepare and
serve communion to the congregation during worship.
9:00am — Ann & Dennis Haggery
10:30am — Shaundi Carmack Dotto
Drama Ministry Team — presents
short skits and dramas during worship or
at special times. Contact (Volunteer needed)
Liturgist Ministry Team (Readers) —
Assist in leading worship, read
scriptures at worship services. Contact Carolyn Garbacz.
Music Ministry — Choir sings at the traditional services.
Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings,
7:00pm—8:30pm from
October thru mid-April. An
informal Summer Choir sings the rest of the year. All singers are welcome.

Praise Team — sings/plays at the
Contemporary Service. Rehearsals are Thursday at 6:30pm.
Refreshments Ministry Team —
provides coffee and other refreshments after worship. Contact Katy Oliver.
Audio/Video — Volunteers operate the
sound board and computer during worship services.

Usher Team — Ushers serve at all
weekend services.

Wedding Ministry Team — helps

Church Growth Team — responsible for
church advertising, publicity and general church outreach. (Need

Connectors Team—makes welcoming
phone calls to first time

Adult Sunday School Class — meets
Sunday mornings at 9:30am year-round. Need Volunteer.
Children’s Sunday School Teaching Team —
teach pre-K thru junior high age level classes on Sunday mornings from 11:15am—Noon. One month commitment. Contact

Library Ministry Team — maintains
church library, purchases new books and videos. Contact Katy Oliver.
Marriage Encounter (& Engaged
Encounter)—national organization providing
week-end retreats designed to strengthen marriages.
Volunteer needed.
Nursery Ministry Team — provides
childcare for all worship services and many church activities. Contact Carolyn

Vacation Bible School—An opportunity
for youth from pre-school through 5th grade to learn more about Jesus, to sing, do crafts, play games and have
refreshments for 3-4 days in June. Contact Carol

Walk to Emmaus — national
organization that sponsors week-end spiritual retreats. Contact Jan

Young Adults — designed for singles and
couples (graduated from High School through mid 20’s who meet periodically

Cancer Support Group — for those who
have cancer or who provide care for a cancer patient. (Needs volunteer).
Card Ministry — provides birthday, anniversary, get well cards and sympathy cards to

Care Callers — provide host of
services including emergency meals, transportation, hospital visits, etc.

Knit Wits—knits prayer shawls for
shut-ins, those hurting from illness or bereavement, as well as
for joyous occasions.

Parish Nurse Ministry—Trained and licensed nurses offer blood pressure checks the first Sunday of
each month prior to and after 9:00 services; offers seminars on
occasion. Contact Nancy Crabtree .
Prayer Chain — volunteers are
contacted by e-mail at least weekly with
prayer requests. Contact Kathy Norris.
Prayer Force Ministry Team — coordinates prayer studies and activities.

Shepherd Ministries — increase
communications within the church. (Needs volunteer).
Stephen Ministry — trained
lay people who provide confidential one-on-one
care to persons in crisis. Contact Kim Riddlesworth.

Eve’s Place—Saturday
morning food preparation for women and children’s shelter—contact Judi
Brawner.
Habitat for Humanity Team —
volunteers help build homes for underprivileged families. Volunteer needed.
Holiday Food Box Team— organizes food boxes and gifts for needy families with children at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. Volunteer needed.
Katrina Mission—helps with the
rebuilding of the devastated area through our financial efforts
and work teams . Contact Jerry and Judi

Local Family in Need Ministry —
provides food, clothing, medicine and
other essentials to a family in need. Contact Myrna Bishop.
New Song Needlers — meets monthly to
make quilts and blankets for infants and children in crisis. Contact Betty Richardson.
Nomad Ministry—persons with
recreational vehicles share their time and skills to help those in need. Contact Gary and Phyllis Prichard.
UMOM (United Methodist Outreach
Ministries) — provides clothing and other donated items to homeless
families. Volunteer needed.
Westside Food Bank Ministry Team —
coordinates volunteer work at the St. Mary's / Westside Food Bank. Contact Jerry Brawner.
Building & Grounds:
General Repairs Team — meets
periodically for general painting and repair work around the church. Contact
Board of Trustees.
Grounds Maintenance Team — does
landscaping, yard work and other outdoor property maintenance. Contact Rich
Richardson or Donn Nelson.
Movers & Shakers Ministry Team —
sets up and takes down chairs, tables, and other items for groups using the
church building. Contact Board of Trustees.
Administrative:
Church Council — meets monthly to
set church policy, review finances and direct ministries. Members are elected
or serve as result of leadership
position in church. Contact Carol Fritz.
Board of Trustees — members are
elected, meet monthly to oversee church property maintenance. Contact Dick

Leadership Ministry Team — provides
leadership training and assistance to ministry team leaders to help them be
successful in their ministries. (Need
volunteer).
Money Counters — counts offerings
every Monday morning and makes bank deposit. Contact Peggy Pepper.

Office Ministry Team — do variety of office tasks including answering phones, copying and folding weekly worship bulletins, monthly newsletter, etc. Contact Debra Osmussen
Staff/Parish Relations Team —
members are elected, meets periodically to oversee staff issues. Contact

Lay Leaders: Everett Heer and Tami Maas are the Lay Leaders of our church and are responsible for representing our congregation to the pastor(s) and on the major planning and administrative committees, and strengthening the lay involvement in the church.
